PROYECTO ESPAÑOL is a language school specialized in Spanish for foreigners; ALICANTE is located in the south-east of Spain, next to Valencia. The Romans named the city "lucentum"-city of light- and captured the character of this radiant palm-lined city facing the sea, which enjoys an extremely pleasant climate. Despite its 330.000 inhabitants, Alicante is a village in which everything is within walking distance. Besides, it is the heart of tourism in the Costa Blanca and maintains its charm as a Spanish university city. The school is placed in the city centre of Alicante.

There are seven classrooms, air conditioning in all the school, wireless Internet access and computers in the school, a library with level adapted books and different kinds of special-interest magazines.

The school is 5 minutes walking from the old town and 10 minutes from the beach. Our committed teaching staff consists of qualified native speakers who have experience in working with foreign students.

The programme is from Sunday to Saturday and it has a minimum duration of 2 weeks. Apart from the course and the extra curricular activities, we include the transfer from Alicante's airport or railway station to the family (always between 8:00 and 22:00 h).

Course programme:

From 9:30 to 13:30: Intensive Spanish Course

Lunch with the host family

From 16:00 to 2000: Monitored extra curricular activities with a Spanish teenager

 Free time and dinner with the host family.

FAMILIES

All our host families live close around the school (maximum 15-minute walk). We have an experience of 12 year and have been working with all our families for a long time. Before the student arrives we will send a complete description of the host family. This way, he will get to know it in advance and will be able to contact them -if necessary- to give them any necessary advice (allergies, special diets...).

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Students won't be bored! The programme is thought to have a complete linguistic and cultural immersion.
They will learn the language in the classroom in the mornings and in the afternoons and evenings they will have the possibility to practise with the Spanish teenagers and monitors through a wide activity programme.

Extracurricular activity-programme for a 2-weeks-stay:

Sunday: arrival.

Monday:  Walk around the City centre and beach games.

Tuesday: Water sports (surf, sailing and kayak).

Wednesday: Guided visit to Santa Barbara Castle

Thursday: Water sports (surf, sailing and kayak).

Friday: Beach games and welcome party.

Saturday:  All day excursion to visit the province.

Sunday: Time to stay with the family.

Monday: Beach games and cinema at the school.

Tuesday: Water sports (surf, sailing and kayak).

Wednesday:  Guided visit to the archaeological museum (MARQ).

Thursday: Water sports (surf, sailing and kayak).

Friday: Beach games and typical Spanish dinner with "tapas".

Saturday: Back home.

The extracurricular activity-programme is organized together with Spanish teenagers. That way the students have as well outside the classroom the possibility to practice their Spanish in a relaxed and collegial atmosphere. All activities will take place under the professional and experienced monitors’ supervision.

Prices include the 20 hours a week Spanish Intensive course + accommodation in a Spanish family with full board in a double room + transfer from Alicante's airport or railway station + extra activities and excursions.
2 weeks: 899 EUR
Extra week: 399 EUR

Extra costs:

• Arrival out of the established hours (8am to 10pm): 20 EUR
• Extra night: 30 EUR
• Individual room supplement: 30 EUR/week.
