The diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) are official certificates that prove the competence level and command of Spanish, given by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education
Level A1 Diploma in Spanish proves enough linguistic competence to understand and use very common everyday expressions anywhere in the Spanish-speaking world, in order to satisfyimmediate needs.
Level A2 Diploma in Spanish proves the candidate can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment).
Level B1 (Starter) Diploma in Spanish proves enough linguistic competence to understand and react appropriately to the most common everyday situations and to communicate wishes and need in a basic way.
Level B2 (Intermediate) Diploma in Spanish proves enough linguistic competence to manage common everyday situations in usual communication situations that do not require a specialized use of the language.
Level C2 (Avanced) Diploma in Spanish proves the necessary linguistic competence to manage in situations that require a high level of language and the knowledge of the cultural traditions expressed by them.
Insituto Cervantes has established the dates for the DELE exams 2011. They are divided in three periods: May, August and Nvember:
MAY 2011: 20th of MAy
Registration dates: 22nd February - 15th April, both included.
AUGUST 2011: 19th August.
Registration dates: 12th - 29th July, both included.
NOVEMBER 2011: 18th November.
Registration Dates: 1st September - 14th October, both included.
Apart from these exams, PROYECTO ESPAÑOL issues a diploma to all the participants to proves the level of Spanish achieved and the number of hours done.
